Womack Counseling

Resolve your problems and live a happier and emotionally healthier life with counseling.  I can help!

Hello, thanks for reviewing this information.  I sincerely want to help you or those that you may be referring for emotional issues, family troubles, forensic services, or marriage difficulties.  I have been working in the Human Service  field for over 35 years.  I have spent the last 26 years in this mental health and addictions practice.

Upon graduation from Sam Houston State University in 1973, the Texas Department of Human Services employed me as a Child Protective Service Worker until 1974.  In 1974 I began another State employment with the Texas Youth Commission (TYC) as a State Juvenile Parole Officer.  I received my Master's of Science Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1978.  After fourteen years of government service, I was prepared to launch an independent private practice.  In 1987, I founded Community Rehabilitation Professional Services, Inc. (CRPSI), a private mental health and substance abuse outpatient agency.  The agency was licensed by the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (TCADA) from 1993-2004.  CRPSI provided substance abuse outpatient services in nine rural East Texas counties.  CRPSI employed twelve substance abuse counselors or interns and two support staff at one time.  This program was part of the State's Statewide Substance Abuse Treatment Initiative.  In 2003 CRPSI/Beverly Womack began downsizing in order to focus on a totally private practice of working with the "private client" in need of assessment, intervention, motivation, and long-term resolution of personal and family problems.

I have been involved with the University of Texas at Arlington and Tyler, Tyler Junior College, Stephen F. Austin State University, and  Texas A&M at Commerce,  as a Continuing Education Sponsor, Instructor, and Clinical Supervisor for student interns, practicum students of alcohol/and drug abuse, social work, and counseling.

As a professional, I am required to maintain State and National licensures and certifications by attending continuing education courses annually.  Specialized training has included, but not limited to, assessment of physical, intellectual, social and psychological functioning and needs and the potential of the social and physical environment to meet those needs; specific areas of interest include:  ethics, dual diagnosis, psychopharmacology, forensics, and other court-related matters.

I have been trained in basic mediation and am now a CREDENTIALLED MEDIATOR.  Courts are utilizing mediation to settle many types of disputes.  I have 26 years of experience working with divorce situation, visitation and custody issues.  I also work with local attorneys in counseling with clients that may have experienced traumatic events. The additional credential in MEDIATION allows for an additional service of private practice.

I am confident that my education and experience qualifies me to help you.  I take a referral very seriously and promise professional services to you or those that you may trust with me.
