PROFESSIONAL APPOINTMENTS:
June 2005 Governor Rick Perry’s Appointee to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapist.  She requested of Governor Greg Abbott not to be reappointed.  She was replaced April 2016. The Board adopts rules and regulations to license and regulate the qualifications and performance of Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in Texas.  During the 11 years, served as   Vice-Chair of Board, Vice- Chair of Ethics Committee and Chair of Professional Development Committee.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Private Practice for 30 years, 1987 to Present, Clinical Practitioner of Mental Health and Substance Abuse services, as well as, founder, and President of Community Rehabilitation Professional Services, Inc. (CRPSI).  The headquarters is located at 514 E. Commerce, Jacksonville, Texas, with a second location in Tyler, Texas.   The private agency was established on April 1, 1987 as a consulting, counseling and training firm. In 1993, services were expanded to include outpatient substance abuse services to the Criminal Justice population. The program was licensed by the Texas Commission of Alcohol and drug Abuse (TCADA) from 1993-2004. CRPSI provided substance abuse outpatient services in nine East Texas counties. CRPSI employed twelve counselors and two support staff at one time. In 2003 CRPSI/Beverly Womack began downsizing of personnel and service area. Although Beverly Womack was the administrator of the Substance Abuse Treatment Initiative; she also maintained a private counseling practice.

The practice today maintains a focus on marriage and family issues, mental health, addictions, forensic services, and psychotherapy. Marriage and Family Therapy means providing professional therapy services to individuals, families, or married couples, alone or in groups that involve applying family systems theories and techniques.  The term includes evaluation and remediation of cognitive, affective, behavioral, or relational dysfunction in the context of marriage or family systems. Forensic Social Work means the practice specialty in social work that focuses on the law, legal issues, and litigation, both criminal and civil, including issues in child welfare, custody of children, divorce, juvenile delinquency, non-support, relative’s responsibility, welfare rights, mandated treatment, expert testimony and legal competency.

STATE SERVICE:
1974-1987, State Juvenile Parole Officer for the Texas Youth Commission, Tyler, Texas. Supervised TYC wards on parole and appointee to serve on committees to review agency child care issues and  direction, also the reorganization of the state’s parole system, including revocation process; special executive appointee to study female offenders, and one of the first parole officers to study, implement, and supervise community based facilities for juveniles.

1973-1974, Child Protective Service Worker, Texas Department of Human Services, Cherokee County, Texas.  Investigation of child abuse and neglect, home investigation
reports for the Family Courts, crisis management intervention, and supervision of children in foster care and recruitment of foster parents.
